Glad you and your Mom where okay and that you dealt with the storm together. I enjoyed hearing your personal story.

Did you feel the earthquake up there? Certainly it has been wild in Richmond, at least for those working in media, to experience back-to-back natural disasters. People in Mineral, VA are still getting aftershocks, magnitue 3.3 this morning!

Were you in Richmond in 2003, when Isabel hit? Irene left close to the same impact. I don't have too much to share. I left my house just as the storm was getting fierce, and I stayed at Channel 6 until 2am. It was very creepy driving home, with winds still high, all lights out and trees blocking off a majority of roads.

I went five days without power. I wrote about it here: http://www2.richmond.com/news/2011/aug/30/day-four-without-power-and-why-its-not-so-bad-ar-1274250/

Miss you LK!

People often overlook when something spontaneous happens to them, I think because of influence by media and Hollywood movies. You should always try to rationally think, even when love and passion is involved.
